Our programme of socially-engaged practice and activities responds to women and related issues of culture, heritage, spaces, equality, social participation, and wellbeing. We’ll be presenting a comprehensive outline soon, but for now:

[DWAN] is acting as Artists & Curators in Residence on significant social engagement and co-research projects, including:

Exploring Social Isolation with women from North Manchester Black Health Forum. [With Ms Sheila Fidler, Centre for Human Communication & Deafness, University of Manchester]

Dentistry Responding to Domestic Violence and Abuse: Research on how the capacity of dentists and dental care professionals can be enhanced to support women with lived experience of domestic violence and abuse (DRiDVA). [With School of Dentistry, UoM]

Translating Research into Action: Involving older people in co-producing knowledge about age-friendly neighbourhood interventions [with MICRA].

HairStories: project collecting stories and images of Northern Women and their hair-related narratives.
